Musical Theatre Voice Instructor (Part-Time)

Triple Threat YYC is growing, and we're looking for an enthusiastic Voice Instructor to join our teaching team!

Our studio offers musical theatre training in a positive, inclusive environment where students build confidence through singing, acting, and dance. We're looking for someone who is passionate about helping young performers discover their voices while fostering creativity, teamwork, and a love of the performing arts.

About the Role

As our Voice Instructor, you will work alongside our artistic team to teach healthy vocal technique and musical theatre repertoire to students of varying ages and experience levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching engaging weekly group voice classes.

  • Helping students develop healthy vocal technique, breath support, tone, diction, and performance skills.

  • Teaching songs from our current musical productions and musical theatre repertoire.

  • Preparing students vocally for performances and showcases.

  • Providing encouragement and constructive feedback in a positive, age-appropriate way.

  • Collaborating with the Artistic Director and choreography team to support productions.

  • Creating a fun, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience teaching voice to children and youth.

  • Has a background in vocal performance, music education, musical theatre, or a related field.

  • Understands healthy vocal technique for developing voices.

  • Is confident teaching both beginner and intermediate singers ranging from ages 5 to 17

  • Is reliable, organized, and communicates well with students and parents.

  • Brings positive energy, patience, and enthusiasm to every class.

  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative creative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in musical theatre performance or music direction.

  • Piano skills are considered an asset.

  • Experience teaching group classes.

  • Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (or willingness to obtain one).

Schedule

  • Part-time, evenings (Tuesday and Thursdays) and weekends during production week and special events.

  • Weekly classes during the September–June season.

  • Additional rehearsals and performances throughout the year as needed.
